Section Weight Objectives
Governance 14% In this topic, program mangers learn about developing and supporting the program integration management, monitoring the business environment, developing and/or contributing to an information repository, and establishing escalation policies and procedures. Moreover, the PgMP exam topic focuses on regularly evaluating new and existing risks, developing and/or utilizing the program management information system, evaluating key performance indicators, obtaining authorization(s) and approval(s) through stage gate reviews, and selecting a governance framework structure.
Strategic Program Alignment 15% In this exam section, the Program Manager will be tested on their ability to align program objectives with the organization's strategic goals. This includes understanding the organization's vision, mission, and strategic plan, and translating them into program objectives.
Program Life Cycle Management 44% The Program Manager will be assessed on their knowledge of the program life cycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure. This domain covers activities such as developing the program charter, managing program scope, creating the program plan, and managing program stakeholders.
Benefits Alignment 11% This section targets Program Managers and tests their ability to identify, measure, and deliver program benefits. It includes understanding the concept of benefit realization, developing benefit management plans, and tracking and communicating program benefits.
Stakeholder Engagement 16% The Program Manager will be evaluated on their skills in identifying, analyzing, and managing stakeholder expectations. This includes developing stakeholder engagement plans, managing stakeholder communications, and resolving stakeholder conflicts.
